“Yatagarasu. ”

DEITIES / Mythological entities.

This work is part of a series of mythological entities and beings seen from a contemporary perspective and developing a Mexican-cyberpunk aesthetic of my own vision and how I imagine Yatagarasu a mythical 3-legged crow.

This crow is part of an ancestral legend of Shinto mythology represents the sun and is considered a guiding god sent by the celestial kami to intervene in human affairs.

When I relate certain myths I can find some patterns that present different mythologies of cultures that apparently have no relation, this makes me think that based on the description maybe Yatagarasu could be a UFO/uaps and being a black flying object that came down from the sky and landed on 3 legs maybe it was associated to a raven 

The more I investigate I find more relationships between these types of beings could perhaps yatagarasu be the version of the Holy Spirit and perhaps the star of Bethlehem in the biblical stories.

The mythologies of the world are full of fantasy and I enjoy joining in this thinking, but I have found that descriptions of powerful gods are almost always associated with men and descriptions of women are associated with beauty, betrayal and temptation, so in this series I have imagined the mythologies as powerful androgynous beings with a cyberpunk mood/aesthetic without leaving aside the celestial aspects associated with the mythologies.
